Relevance of this research is based upon the fact that the position of the youth in the Republic of Srpska, in a broader sense, is inseparable from recent intense events in the society. Evidence-based recommendations are proposed for those working with young people and families in the Nambucca Valley shire. Convergent findings are identified and discussed in the report. Qualitative data are also sourced from a community conversation hosted by the Department in Nambucca, March 2017. Quantitative measures are drawn predominately from 'dropping off the edge' indicators, and from the 2016 census of population and housing. Data sourced from three postal areas are analysed: Macksville, Nambucca Heads, and Bowraville. current report is guided by the Department’s targeted earlier intervention framework, and documents young people’s key concerns and needs within the Nambucca local government area. As part of the targeted earlier intervention program reform that began in 2015, the Department have identified ‘at risk’ groups needing priority service. It is one of five local government areas in the NSW government Department of Family and Community Services Mid North Coast district. Nambucca Valley is an area of natural beauty, and homeland to the Gumbaynggirr people past and present.
